四川省甘孜州昔青大则寺如意法轮洲的甚深伟大修行者,明目观音的化身、康藏喇嘛仁波切的转世——佐钦巴索南达吉尊者。曾依止顶果钦哲法王、青海查朗寺班玛洛珠法王,一生精进修学,以大圆满等瑜伽修行,令如海般显密窍诀的闻思,达到究竟。
尊者一生远离世间八法,精进修持,对于外别解脱戒的戒律如法守护,未曾被罪堕所垢染;内以菩萨、佛子视所有众生为独子的悲心而不懈利益众生;密三昧耶戒誓言清净,成为二次第瑜伽的自在主。
His Holiness Dharmaraja Sonam Dargye, the great practitioner of Xi Qing Da Ze Monastery, the Wish-Fulfilling Dharma Wheel Turning Continent in Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province was the Nirmanakaya of Mingmu Avalokitesvara and the reincarnation of Kangzang Lama Rinpoche. He once relied upon Dharmaraja Dingguo Qin Zhe and Dharmaraja Ban Maluo Zhu of Chalang Temple in Qinghai Province and spent all his lifetime diligently researching and practicing the Great Perfection and other yogas, having achieved ocean like hearing and thinking piths of the exoteric and Tantric Buddhism and reached the ultimate.
Dharmaraja Sonam Dargye stayed avoided the Eight Worldly Concerns throughout his entire life and focused on practicing Dharma. He protected the Pratimoksha vows following Dharma rules without any defects, and from within, he held the great compassion that was the same with Bodhicitta treating all the sentient beings as his only child and working diligently to benefit them. He kept Tantra Samaya Precept vows tightly, and hence became a great freedom of the two Yoga (Preliminary Practice Yoga and Perfection Practice Stage Yoga).
尊者是个秘密的禁行者,因此很难了解他高深莫测的内证功德或见地。他像孩童一般,没有任何傲慢,易于相处、相续调柔;尊者日常住于寂静祥和之中,没有苦乐喜怒,每个与他相处的人都能感受到被关怀,觉得温暖、快乐。他生活简朴、精严持戒,对世间财物没有任何贪着,自己的财产和收到的供养全部用来供养三宝,扶助利益众生。他具足功德、学识渊博、智慧深远,尊者声音洪亮、言语朴实、教义深刻,一句特别简单的窍诀,却传达了非常精髓的义理,能直指心性,让弟子们受用一生。尊者的学识、持戒、心性等的功德,善妙殊胜;讲经、修行、佛行事业,广大犹如虚空,声名遍传藏汉。
His Holiness was a secret retreat practitioner. It is quite difficult to capture his inscrutable enlightenment or insights. He was like a child, not arrogant at all, easy to get along with, and soft-minded. His Holiness’ daily life was quiet and peaceful. He had no strong emotions, either joys, bitterness or angers. Everyone who stayed with him could easily feel being cared for and also his warmth and happiness. He lived a simple life and kept precepts strictly. He was never keen on worldly possessions. All his belongings and all the offerings he had received were used for Three Jewels to benefit all sentient beings. He had plentiful merits, wide knowledge, and profound wisdom. His voice was clear and loud. His language was easy but deep. One simple tip from him could convey the essence of principles that penetrated to people’s heart directly and benefited his disciples for their entire life. The merits of His Holiness’ scholarly achievement, serena precepts, and nature of the heart were supreme. His sutra teaching, dharma practicing, and Buddhism affairs were as broad as the sky, and his fame had been spread throughout Tibet and Han Proper.
藏历第十七胜生周铁鼠年萨嘎月初一(即2020年5月23日)清晨五点十分,索南达吉尊者在没有任何疾病疼痛的情况下,为利益一切有情众生,在黎明座时,以安详静谧愉悦之态进入甚深禅定,示现涅槃隐入法界。怙主佐钦巴白玛格桑法王于5月27日清晨五点多,为索南达吉尊者作定中唤醒。
At 5:10 a.m. in the early morning on the first day of Saga Dawa Duchen of the 17th Year of Iron Rat in the Tibetan calendar (23rd May 2020), the Dharmaraja Sonam Dargye, without any disease or pain, entered deep meditation at dawn with serenity and joy, manifested Parinirvana, and hid into the Dharma realm for the benefits of all sentient beings. On 27th May, His Holiness Dzogchen Pema Kalsang woke up Dharmaraja Sonam Dargye from the determination at around 5 o'clock in the morning.
尊者预知时至,藏历三月二十五日特意慈爱地将家人聚到一起,放下了一生都严格遵守的修行状态,尽心陪伴家人,度过了轻松愉快的几天。相处中,尊者不忘教导家人要相信因果,报答父母恩德,使得到的人身更有意义,还要尽力满足上师的意趣,修法的所有要义都包含其中。
Knowing the time was coming, the Dharmaraja Sonam Dargye had brought all the family together with love and special intention on March 25th of the Tibetan calendar. He put aside the state of spiritual practice that he had strictly followed all his life long and spent several easy and pleasant days with his family. During those days, His Holiness Dharmaraja never forgot reminding his family to believe in cause and effect, to repay parents’ kindness, to fulfill life with the human flesh body, and to do the best to satisfy the interest of the Guru. All the essentials of practicing Dharma were covered in these key points.
尊者在三月三十日的晚上,跟家人闲聊时还提到,作为修行人最好是在偏僻的地方,像流浪猫狗一样,在身边无人的情况下,自己一个人静静地离世。如果做不到的话,生命最后的时间要呆在寺庙里,跟僧团一起度过,因为僧团有不可思议的加持力,但现代人不一定能有这样的福报。至于是选择天葬还是火化,对于一个真正的修行人是没有差别的。但如果不是真正的修行人,往生之后做很复杂的仪式,反倒增加了亡者的罪业。尊者嘱咐,如果他圆寂的话,一定要把他送往五明佛学院,用普通人的方式处理就好。
His Holiness Dharmaraja also mentioned, when chatting with his family in the evening of 30th March, that the best way for a spiritual practitioner to pass away is to die quietly alone in a remote and isolated place, just like street cats and dogs dying alone with nobody around. If it is not possible, staying with the Sangha in the temple in the last couple of hours of the life is an alternative as the Sangha has incredible blessings. Unfortunately, most modern people may not have such merits. As for the choice of celestial burial or cremation, there is no difference for a true spiritual practitioner. But for those who are not a true practitioner, the complex rituals after death may increase the sinful karma of the deceased instead. His Holiness Dharmaraja thus requested to be sent to the Larung Gar Five Sciences Buddhist Academy and be treated in the way of ordinary people when he passed away.
萨嘎月十五日,遵照尊者生前的遗愿,将其法体送往色达五明佛学院天葬寺进行天葬。尊者谦恭慈悲,虽已经修证圆满,此世的身体仍以“施身”来表法,用自己的法体来做上供下施,以利益更多众生。普通人天葬时,天空常常是阴云密布,天色暗沉。但法王天葬当天,天空晴朗无云,遍满了彩虹、明点、小明点等殊胜瑞象。
On the 15th of Saga month, in accordance with the last wish of His Holiness, his body was sent for celestial burial in the Celestial Burial Temple of Larung Gar Five Sciences Buddhist Academy in Seda.
His Holiness was humble and compassionate. Though he had perfected his cultivation, he still demonstrated the Dharma by "giving the body", leveraging his own Dharma body to make offerings and givings to benefit as many sentient beings as possible. When ordinary people are buried with celestial burial, the sky is usually overcast and dark. However, on the day of His Holiness’s burial, the sky was clear and blue, full of spectacular and auspicious phenomena including rainbows, bright spots, small bright spots, and etc.
为了祈愿尊者早日乘愿再来及留下供养所依,在弟子眷属和众多教众的恳切要求下,从天葬中取回一小部分骨骼于藏历萨嘎月十九日(6月9日)在昔青大则寺举行了盛大的荼毗。举行荼毗的当天,烟雾中香味四溢,天空中彩云连网、明点庄严,与《续部经典》中的成就征象相符合。虽然尊者只余非常小的一部分骨骼荼毗,但七天后开灵堂检骨时仍生出甚多白、蓝、黄等五色舍利,以及其他小舍利千余粒。后将尊者舍利供奉于精舍中,每日仍能不断新生出许多舍利。《续部经典》里记:“舍利者不毁坏,坚硬无他物灭,即得无畏佛果。”
尊者圆寂归真,现已融入法界,众生痛失光明依怙,时值一周年之际,有缘众生共同发愿,祈祷尊者慈心不舍,能早日乘愿再来,利益无量众生。
Praying that His Holiness would come back soon and hoping for leaving behind the a relic of offerings, the disciples and believers earnestly requested to retrieve a piece of skeleton of the His Holiness for a grand cremation ceremony on the 19th day of Saga Dawa Duchen in Tibetan Calendar (9th June) at Xi Qing Da Ze Monastery. On the day of ceremony, the scent in the smoke overflowed, the colorful clouds in the sky appeared with the solemn bright spots. Such achievement signs were exactly in line with the description of a grand achiever in "Sequel Classics". Although there was only a small piece of skeleton left from His Holiness, many five-colored relics in white, blue, and yellow as well as thousands of smaller relics were found seven days later when the mortuary was opened for bone examination. Afterwards, the relics of His Holiness were enshrined in the abode, while many new relics were found continuously every day. "The Sequel Classic" mentioned “Relics; solid relics; solid relics that nothing could destroy; that is Fearless Buddhahood gained.” His Holiness has passed away and been integrated into Dharma Realm. All sentient beings sadly lost the light and support. On the first anniversary of his Parinirvana, let us all the destined sentient beings make a vow together and pray that His Holiness will be merciful coming back soon and benefit immeasurable sentient beings.
